This piece was commissioned by a developer for installation in an office building in Park City, Utah. The building has entry lobbies on both sides of the building, with corridors leading to a central elevator lobby. This building also has a river theme design, made of bronze ribbons and two colors of granite in the floor with cast bronze plates with images inlaid as tiles. The images cast into the bronze floor tiles were developed to be used in the sign package as well. This installation consists of cast bronze with sandstone blocks stacked to create two columns in each lobby. These columns were then carved with images and textures suggesting writing or pictographs which are characteristic to the history of Utah civilizations. The bronze figures represent the guardians who protect the various places.
This is the companion piece in office building 1 at New Park in Park City, Utah. It stands opposite the previous piece in the other entry lobby, linked by a corridor through the elevator lobby.
